About Dr. Narendra Rangappa

Dr. Narendra Rangappa is an experienced and well-trained orthopedic surgeon with about 30 years of experience.
He has conducted more than 1000 joint replacement surgeries.
His area of expertise includes joint replacement and adult limb and cartilage reconstruction.
Dr. Rangappa specializes in using stem cell therapy to achieve the latter. He is also very familiar with arthroscopy surgery for ACL and PCL reconstruction, as well as meniscal surgery.
Having received training in trauma surgery and sports medicine, his proficiency is evident in hip and knee replacement and implant removal surgery.
His experience further expands to scoliosis correction surgeries using the Pedicle screw technique, management of cerebral palsy, percutaneous fracture fixation by TEN system and botox injection for spasticity.
Further, hands-on experience in spine surgeries includes treating facet joint blocks and selective nerve root blocks. He has performed discectomies, microdiscectomies and percutaneous biopsy of spinal lesions, among other procedures.
Dr. Rangappa began his medical journey with an MBBS degree obtained from JSS Medical College, Mysore, in 1994.
He then pursued an MS in Orthopedics from the University of Mysore, India, in 1999.
He went on to gain experience with a clinical fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery from BIRRD, Tirupathi, in 1999.
Dr. Rangappa continued to gain experience with the Depuy-Johnson and Johnson Spine Surgery Fellowship from Chonnam National University, South Korea.
Next, Dr. Rangappa learned from another fellowship in joint replacement from the Center for Musculoskeletal Surgery in Germany.
His successful cases include fixing knee fractures using total knee replacement through the stem cell revision process and using a special implant from Italy, Orthofix, on gravely wounded Nigerian soldiers.
He is also associated with the Indian Orthopaedic Association and the Karnataka Orthopaedic Association.
