Dr. Rajasundaram is a distinguished Surgical Oncologist with over 32 years of experience.
His expertise includes laparoscopic GI and gynecological oncology surgeries, head and neck cancer surgeries with microvascular reconstruction, and advanced breast cancer surgeries.
So far, he has effectively carried out over 15,000 intricate cancer surgeries.
Dr. Rajasundaram is also skilled in executing advanced procedures for breast cancer, such as sentinel lymph node biopsy and oncoplastic reconstruction.
He has completed more than 5,000 surgeries related to breast cancer and is recognized as an innovator in this area.
He is well-known for managing challenging thyroid surgeries.
Dr. Rajasundaram is among the few surgeons in India who are proficient in laparoscopic GI oncology surgeries.
He played a key role in advancing cancer treatments like HIPEC (hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy) and complete cytoreductive surgery (CCRS).
His educational journey started with completing MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Madras Medical College, Madras, in 1992 and 1997, respectively.
Dr. Rajasundaram further completed a DNB in General Surgery from the National Board of Examination, New Delhi, in 1997 and an MCh in Surgical Oncology from Dr. Muthulakshmi College of Oncological Sciences, Adyar, in 2000.
He is a Fellow of the Association of Surgeons of India (FAIS) and a Fellow of the Association of Minimal Access Surgery (FAMS).
He completed special training in Casualty and Trauma in 1992, postgraduate training in the Department of Surgery in 1997, and special training in vascular surgery in 1998, all from Government General Hospital.
In 2000, he completed postgraduate training in surgical oncology at the Cancer Institute (WIA), Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
Dr. Rajasundaram has delivered 200 guest lectures at national and international levels and has many publications in reputed journals.
He also conducted innumerable awareness programs in the state and has been an external examiner at higher specialty (MCh) exams for the past five years.
Dr. Rajasundaram is a member of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology, the Indian Society of Oncology, the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India, and the European Society of Medical Oncology.
