About Dr. Shubham Garg

Dr. Shubham Garg is a highly respected Surgical Oncologist with over 19 years of extensive experience in cancer surgery and oncology care.
He specializes in the surgical management of a wide spectrum of cancers, including esophageal, head and neck, lung, breast, gastrointestinal, and gynecological malignancies, as well as bone and soft tissue tumours.
He is an expert in minimally invasive and organ-preserving procedures, including laparoscopic surgeries for gastrointestinal cancers and video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for thoracic cancers.
Dr. Garg completed his MBBS at Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, in 2006 and subsequently pursued an MS in General Surgery at Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, in 2010.
He obtained his MCh in Surgical Oncology from the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH) in Mumbai in 2015, one of the top cancer centers in India and Asia.
During his four years at TMH, Dr. Garg underwent rigorous training in managing complex cases of head and neck, thoracic, gastrointestinal, breast, and gynecologic cancers, gaining exposure to high-volume surgical oncology practice.
He has served as a Senior Resident in the Department of Surgical Oncology at AIIMS, Delhi, where he further honed his skills and developed a focused interest in minimally invasive cancer surgeries.
Dr. Garg pursued an International Fellowship in minimally invasive thoracic surgery at Severance Hospital, affiliated with Yonsei University, in Seoul, South Korea.
He also trained in Uniportal Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (Uniportal VATS) at the Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital in China, a globally recognised centre for advanced thoracic procedures.
His multidisciplinary team includes a dietician, speech therapist, physiotherapist, and specialised oncology nurses to support patients through pre-surgical preparation, post-surgical rehabilitation, and long-term care and wellness.
Dr. Garg is a member of reputed medical societies, including the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology (IASO) and the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI).
He remains actively involved in oncology research and surgical education, mentoring young surgeons and contributing to peer-reviewed journals and publications.
