Dr. Sudheer Kumar Tyagi is a highly experienced Neuro-Spine Surgeon with over 36 years of expertise in managing complex neurological and spinal conditions.
He specializes in brain tumor surgeries, anterior cervical discectomy, brain aneurysm clipping, craniovertebral junction surgeries, epilepsy surgeries, spinal tumor surgery, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS).
With a remarkable record of over 11,000 microscopic brain and spine surgeries, including more than 9,000 successful neurological procedures, he is one of the most accomplished neurosurgeons in India.
He has performed numerous Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and ablative surgeries, particularly in movement disorders and epilepsy, establishing himself as a pioneer in functional neurosurgery.
Dr. Tyagi pioneered the functional stereotactic surgery program at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, and was the first in India to use the Image Fusion technique to localize deep brain targets for such surgeries.
He has also led advancements in frameless stereotactic navigation, especially in epilepsy cases involving lesions near eloquent brain regions.
At Apollo Hospital, he has conducted the largest number of stereotactic radiosurgeries (SRS) to date.
His expertise extends to spinal instrumentation across all levels, from cervico-occipital to lumbosacral.
Educationally, he holds an MBBS and MS in General Surgery from the University of Lucknow, and an MCh in Neurosurgery from AIIMS, New Delhi (1997).
He underwent further training in neurovascular and skull base surgery in Slovenia, stereotactic functional neurosurgery in Sydney, and spinal cord stimulation in San Francisco.
A committed educator and researcher, he is actively engaged in neurosurgical training programs at Apollo Hospitals.
